The electric scooter rider sought by police after a pedestrian was injured in a collision in Hafnargata came forward with a guardian, mbl.is reported. The rider went to a police station, according to a statement from Suðurnes Police.

Police had been looking for the rider after a pedestrian was struck outside a Kjörbúðin grocery store on Hafnargata that morning. The pedestrian was injured in the collision.

Police removed a video that accompanied an earlier Facebook post at the request of the rider and guardian. They also reminded parents that electric scooters are subject to regulations: children under 13 may not use them, and scooters that exceed a certain speed require a licence, registration and insurance.
