Sinnisbati plans to begin offering counselling to young people early in the spring, Kringvarp Føroya (KVF) reports. Gunnvá Árnadóttir Djurhuus has been appointed to lead the new service.
The service is being developed with inspiration from Headspace programmes in Denmark and Iceland. It is intended to provide a safe, preventive, anonymous, free and easily accessible place where young people can seek help, advice or someone to talk to.
Funding is shared between the state, municipalities and foundations.
On Saturday, Sinnisbati will highlight young people’s mental health at a public event at Finsen in Tórshavn.
