SA staff party trip coincides with collective agreement deadline

Some staff members of the Confederation of Icelandic Enterprise (SA) will travel abroad on an annual party trip on Thursday, the same day the deadline to terminate collective agreements expires, mbl.is reported. The destination has not been disclosed.

Negotiations between SA, VR, LÍV and Fagfélögin are continuing at the state mediator. Some people involved in the talks are among those travelling, but not everyone involved will go, SA deputy managing director Anna Hrefna Ingimundardóttir told mbl.is. She declined to identify who would be away.

Ingimundardóttir said the deadline had been known when the trip was booked, but arrangements had been made to ensure it would not cause a problem. She said she considered it unlikely that the status of negotiations would force anyone to miss the trip.

The trip is organised by SA’s staff association. Ingimundardóttir said the office would have enough staff to handle any matters requiring in-person attention while some employees were abroad.
