Police report two assaults and drug-related offences

Police in the capital region responded to two assaults and several drug-related cases overnight, mbl.is reported.

One assault took place in Kópavogur, where a man was arrested and held in a police cell. The victim was taken to an emergency department for treatment. The other assault happened in the city centre. The injuries were minor, and police are investigating because the assailant is unknown.

Three people were arrested in district 101 on suspicion of drug-related offences and held in custody. The case is under investigation.

A car struck a lamppost and a traffic sign. The driver, suspected of driving under the influence, was taken into custody.

The incidents were among the police’s assignments from 5 p.m. on Tuesday to 5 a.m. on Wednesday.
