Police investigate group assault in Reykjanesbær

Police in the Suðurnes region are investigating a serious assault in Reykjanesbær in which several people are suspected of attacking a man in his 20s with blunt objects, mbl.is reports.

The assault took place on Friday evening. The man went to hospital himself and received treatment, according to a police statement.

Police have carried out searches in connection with the case and questioned two suspects, who were released after questioning. More people are suspected of involvement and are being sought. Those suspected are in their 20s, 30s and 40s.

The investigation is ongoing.
