Funding for climate treatment abroad for people with psoriasis and rheumatic diseases has been removed from the proposed budget for next year, KVF reports.

The budget has provided one million kroner a year in recent years, split equally between the Psoriasis Association and the Rheumatism Association. The groups say the treatment is supervised by doctors, who assess applications and decide who has a medical need. Not everyone with a diagnosed condition who applies is accepted.

The associations say demand already exceeds the available funding. They are urging political leaders to retain the allocation and find a lasting solution so patients do not have to fight for access to the same treatment each year.
