Faroe Islands committee reviews proposed abortion law change

The Faroe Islands Parliament’s Legal Committee will hear from six invitees as it considers a proposal to amend abortion legislation, KVF reported.
The proposal was put forward by the Centre Party. The invitees are Føroya Pro Vita, MEGD, the Faroese Association of Psychologists, the Faroese Pastors’ Association, and the health minister together with the National Hospital and the Health Authority.
The committee received the matter after a lengthy first reading in parliament on September 24.
