Husband chases away two men trying to enter bedroom window
Two men appeared to be trying to break into a family’s home through a bedroom window shortly after 2 a.m., but the woman’s husband chased them away, mbl.is reports.
Media personality Anna Marsibil Clausen, known as Anna Marsý, described the incident in a Facebook group for residents of the city centre, warning others about possible break-ins. She said the men spoke loudly as they discussed how to get through the window.
Anna wrote that her husband thought the men were “poor souls looking for financing for their next dose” rather than “cunning criminals.” She said the incident was not dramatic: their daughter did not wake, and her husband let Anna sleep while he drove the men away.
The family does not live on the ground floor, Anna added, which would have made it difficult for the men to reach their apartment. She said they would lock their windows at night from now on.
Anna said she wanted to alert other residents. The city has seen a wave of burglaries in recent months, with many reports made to police. A residents’ meeting was held at City Hall in July, where Mayor Hildur Björnsdóttir presented measures and advice on preventing break-ins.
