Perhehoitoliitto plans to dismiss all its permanent employees as it prepares for cuts to STEA state grants for social and health organisations, Yle reports.

The board decided on the dismissals at its September meeting. They are due to take place between October and December, but the organisation’s operations, services and partnerships will continue as usual for now. Staff will work at least through the end of the year.

The board hopes the dismissals can be cancelled in December if a proposed allocation of STEA funding for 2027 makes that possible.

Founded in 1983, Perhehoitoliitto is a nationwide expert organisation for family care. Its members are associations of family carers across Finland.
