Fjarðabyggð caps 2027 fee increases at 2.5%

The municipal executive committee of Fjarðabyggð has approved a limit of 2.5% on increases to general fee schedules in the municipality’s A-part operations in 2027, mbl.is reports.

The committee also called on the central government and its institutions to similarly limit increases in fees and charges on households.

Fjarðabyggð said the decision was intended to contribute to shared goals of reducing inflation and interest rates and improving household finances. The committee stressed that all parties needed to work together to achieve those aims.
