Loose horses surprise residents in Úlfarsárdalur

A loose herd of horses surprised residents of Úlfarsárdalur on Friday after wandering through the residential neighbourhood, mbl.is reported.

The horses appeared calm as they walked among cars and other traffic, passing a bus stop. Police monitored them and made sure they did not reach Vesturlandsvegur road.

Police said the herd had escaped from a farm in the area. The horses were gathered and led back before their owner arrived to collect them. They have all returned home.

Photos and videos shared on social media showed the horses, with people noting that they had left manure on the sidewalks.
