Police arrest man suspected of using pepper spray in downtown fight

A man was arrested in the city centre overnight on suspicion of using pepper spray in a fight, mbl.is reported. He was held in a police cell while the case is investigated, according to the police log.

Police also responded to an assault outside a city-centre nightclub. The case is under investigation.

A driver stopped during a routine traffic check was found to be under the influence of drugs and medication. He had also driven along a pedestrian street, was disqualified from driving and had drugs in his possession.

In a separate incident, police were called about a driver suspected of being under the influence of drugs. The suspicion was confirmed, and both the driver and a passenger are suspected of unauthorized use and drug possession.
