Roadworks cause heavy traffic around Skeifan

Roadworks caused heavier-than-usual traffic around the Skeifan area at about 1.30 p.m. on Friday, mbl.is reported.

The work was taking place on an exit ramp at the grade-separated junction leading from Skeifan towards Miklabraut in the eastbound direction. Drivers travelling east from Skeifan had to use Sæbraut or other routes to reach their destinations.

The Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration said the area falls under Reykjavík City’s responsibility. mbl.is said it had not received information from the city about the work.
