Police in East Jutland are investigating whether two attacks on young women in Risskov, near Aarhus, are connected, DR reports. Officers said Friday that it is too early to determine whether the cases are linked.

On July 12, a 22-year-old woman was knocked down, restrained and groped at the junction of Solbakken and Rolighedsvej. She managed to call for help. On September 28, a 24-year-old woman was pushed down and held at Stationsgade, but managed to break free.

After police appealed for witnesses to the September attack, they received several reports. One came from a woman who said she had felt followed in Trøjborg earlier that month. Police have spoken to her but said they could not yet say whether her experience was connected to the attacks. Other women have also contacted police after feeling unsafe, though they said no one had approached them and nothing had happened.

Police said extra patrols would be visible in the area over the coming days. They advised residents to continue their usual routines, consider walking with others if they feel uneasy going alone, and stay alert. Anyone who sees or experiences something suspicious should contact police.

Police also warned against plans by a private group to form what it calls a patrol group, saying security is the responsibility of the police and that private patrols could have the opposite effect on people’s sense of safety.

Police are seeking witnesses to both attacks. Anyone with information can call 114.
