The hearing in the Kársnes case was delayed by just over an hour on Friday morning while judges inspected the scene at Skjólabraut 10, mbl.is reported.

The main trial began on Tuesday in the case against Georgios Ntentes, who is charged with killing a man in his forties at the man’s home on the evening of November 28. Ntentes denies the charge.

The indictment alleges that he stabbed the man three times in the abdomen with a knife, cut him and stabbed him several times in the neck with a sharp object, then struck or pressed on the front of his neck. The man suffered extensive blood loss and died.

Ntentes was arrested in December, several days after the man was found dead. He spent several days in custody before being released and was later arrested again.

The judges inspected the scene and recorded details about the apartment. Ntentes’ defence lawyer said he could not endorse the judges’ assertion that the building’s acoustics meant sounds travelled poorly.
