New electric refuse truck crashes into Argir yard

A new electric refuse truck belonging to Tórshavn Municipality rolled down a steep street and crashed through a fence into a yard in Argir, KVF reported.

Police are investigating why the truck began rolling while its driver was collecting household waste on Rosságøta. No one was in its path, and the crash caused only property damage, according to neighbours.

The truck is believed to have rolled about 50 metres before breaking through the fence and coming to a stop in the yard of a house at the bottom of the street. It weighs several tonnes.
