Iceland, roads, weather

Roads through Breiðadalsheiði and Þórsmörk have been washed out by flooding, mbl.is reports, citing the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration.

Heavy rainfall this week across southeastern Iceland, near Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull, in the central highlands and in the Eastfjords has increased the risk of unstable slopes, rockfalls, mudslides and other landslides, the Icelandic Met Office said. The risk is greatest in steep terrain.
