Klettabær has given notice to 28 employees after deciding not to renew service agreements for three residents when they expire at the end of the year, mbl.is reports.
The three residents are all adults and will move to permanent services provided by their municipalities of domicile. The employees affected work different hours.
Jóhanna M. Fleckenstein, Klettabær’s managing director and co-owner, told Iceland’s public broadcaster RÚV that the notice period was short.
Klettabær is a privately run service for children, young people and adults who need individualised care and specialised support. Its services are based on agreements with the municipalities where its clients are domiciled. The organisation employs about 500 people in different roles and working hours.
