Þverárfjallsveg reopens after milk truck overturns

Þverárfjallsveg has reopened after a milk truck and trailer overturned and blocked the road on Thursday morning, mbl.is reported. The driver suffered minor injuries.

The driver was taken to the Healthcare Institution of North Iceland in Sauðárkrókur, police chief superintendent Höskuldur B. Erlingsson told mbl.is.

Recovery equipment was brought to the scene to lift the truck, and the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration later reported that the road was open again.
