Four men have been remanded in custody for another four weeks in an investigation into drug imports, mbl.is reports. Reykjavik District Court ordered them held until October 28 on public-interest grounds, at the request of the Capital Region Police.

Police say the case concerns the import of five kilograms of amphetamine in an express shipment from Germany. Three of the men were arrested in the first half of September and the fourth a week later.

The men are also suspected of receiving other drug shipments in recent weeks. Police are investigating those allegations, and searches uncovered drugs believed to be connected to earlier shipments, including one kilogram of ketamine.

All four were arrested in Reykjavik and were initially remanded on grounds related to the investigation. Police say they aim to complete the investigation soon, after which the case will be sent to the District Prosecutor’s Office.
