Police seek man after Jyväskylä light artwork is damaged

Police are seeking help identifying a man after a light and sound artwork was damaged at Lutakonaukio square in Jyväskylä on Tuesday, Yle reports.

The damage was reported at about 1 p.m. The artwork, Evanescent Droplets, was created by English artist Atelier Sisu for the City of Light event. One of its large spheres was damaged, but repairs were completed later that day, Jyväskylä city service manager Kari Ström said.

A security guard at the square witnessed the incident and tried to catch the person responsible. Police believe a man left the scene and are asking anyone with information to help identify him.

Central Finland Police are investigating the case as aggravated criminal damage. Tips can be sent to [email protected].
