Faroe Islands to close missions in Moscow and Tel Aviv

The Faroe Islands will close their missions in Moscow and Tel Aviv but keep their mission in London, KVF reports. The diplomat representing the islands to the EU will also represent them in Britain.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Fisheries announced the changes alongside the presentation of the 2027 budget. It said the foreign service would be reorganised to focus more of its resources and expertise on the North Atlantic and the Arctic.

Export Faroe Islands will be strengthened as a shared platform to connect expertise, skills and networks in structured cooperation with businesses. The ministry said the initiative would identify markets where Faroese businesses are considered to have particular opportunities.

The budget allocates two million kroner to Export Faroe Islands, with plans to increase the funding in the coming years.
