Man held over serious assault in Kópavogur

A man in his 40s is in police custody on suspicion of seriously injuring a woman in her 30s in Kópavogur, mbl.is reports.

Police said the man was arrested in an apartment in a multi-unit building last night. The woman was taken to an emergency department with serious injuries.

Police will seek to have the man remanded in custody later today.
