Police release woman suspected in Kuopio killing

Yle reports that police have released a 42-year-old woman who was detained on suspicion of a killing in Kuopio.

North Savo District Court remanded two people in custody last week. The woman was held on the lower threshold of “reason to suspect,” while a 40-year-old man was remanded on “probable cause” and is also suspected in the case.

The suspected killing took place on Saturday, September 19, in a private home in Levänen, a district of Kuopio. Police suspect that a local man in his 70s died as a result of a homicide. The case is being investigated as manslaughter.

Police have declined to provide further details, citing investigative reasons.
