Police find missing Kaustinen man dead in river

A man reported missing in Kaustinen two weeks ago has been found dead in the Perho River, Yle reported, citing police.

The man, born in 1963, was located at an estimated depth of three metres with the help of a police cadaver dog and sonar. The discovery was far from where his boat had earlier been found. Rescue service divers retrieved his body from the river.

The Voluntary Rescue Service also took part in the search. The dog was brought in from the Häme Police Department.

Police do not suspect a crime and are continuing the investigation as a cause-of-death inquiry.
