The Judiciary Committee is reviewing a Centre Party proposal to amend the new abortion law, KVF reports.
The proposal would require women to receive counselling and time to consider their decision before making a final choice about an abortion. It would also require women applying for an abortion to state anonymously why they are seeking one.
The proposal’s first reading in parliament took place on Thursday, with debate lasting more than four hours. The committee is chaired by Fróði Magnussen and also includes Ben Arabo, Bill Justinussen, Hermann Samuelsen, Magni Højgaard, Hervør Pálsdóttir and Steffan Klein Poulsen.
