Landsnet worker conscious after electric shock at substation

A Landsnet employee was conscious when flown to hospital after an electric current passed through him while he was working at a substation, mbl.is reported.

Ásmundur Kristinn Ásmundsson, a police superintendent with West Iceland Police, said it appeared the incident had turned out better than initially feared. The worker was flown to hospital by helicopter.

Ásmundur said he did not know whether the man had fallen from a height, but described him as somewhat injured. Power outages were reported in Borgarfjörður and Mýrar after the incident.
