The Faroese Health Authority says energy drink sales should be restricted to people aged 18 and over, KVF reports, after a Nordic survey found that six in 10 young people drink them at least once a week.
No formal rules currently govern who can buy energy drinks in Faroese shops. Some retailers have introduced age limits on their own, but the authority’s director says that is not enough.
The survey did not include the Faroe Islands, and no equivalent figures are available for the islands.
