Child pricks finger on needle found at school

A child at Laugarnesskóli, a school, pricked themselves on an injection needle found in the schoolyard on Monday, mbl.is reported.

The school principal said in an email to parents and guardians that staff responded immediately in accordance with the school’s safety procedures.

Parents were urged to talk to their children about not touching needles they may find outdoors. Students were also told to inform school staff or another adult so the needles can be removed safely.

“The safety of our students is always our priority,” the email said.
