Police seek witnesses after two girls approached from white car

Two schoolgirls were approached by a man in a white car in Vissenbjerg on Monday evening, Danish broadcaster DR reported. Police are seeking witnesses after the man used sexually offensive language towards the girls.

The incident happened shortly before 8pm near Vestergade in Vissenbjerg, on western Funen. The man did not touch the girls, but his approach made them feel unsafe. They rejected him and quickly walked home.

Police are looking for a man with tattoos on his left arm who was wearing a black hoodie. He was driving a white passenger car.

Officers arrived shortly after the incident, spoke to the girls and searched the area, including with police dogs. No one has been arrested, and police are asking anyone who noticed a white car near the scene between 7.30pm and 8pm to contact them on 114.

The girls attend Vissenbjerg School, whose parents were informed about the incident. In a message, school head Gitte Kondrup praised the girls for rejecting the man and urged parents to talk to their children about how to respond if they are approached. She advised them to remain calm and contact the police.
