Major exercise begins at Vagar Airport

Vága Airport and the Faroese Police have asked people without business at the airport to stay away while a major exercise involving several emergency vehicles and helicopters is under way.

The authorities said there is heavy smoke and considerable traffic around the airport. They also urged people to exercise caution on the road from Vatnsoyrar to the airport, where emergency vehicles taking part in the exercise will be travelling.
