HMS reviews Iceland’s housing construction outlook

The Housing and Construction Authority, known as HMS, is holding a public meeting on Iceland’s construction market and housing development in Reykjavík on Tuesday, mbl.is reports.

The meeting begins at noon at HMS headquarters and is being streamed live.

Participants will review the main findings from HMS’s September count of homes under construction, which are due to be published today.

The agenda includes a presentation by Hugrún Ýr Sigurðardóttir, team leader for property valuation and registration at HMS, on the count of homes under construction.

HMS specialist Jón Örn Gunnarsson will discuss the state and outlook of the construction market, while Einar Þorsteinsson, chairman of Reykjavík City Council, will speak about housing development in the capital.

Jónas Atli Gunnarsson, HMS chief economist, will chair the meeting.
