Police report harmless behaviour and dangerous driving

Police in the capital region received a report of unusual behaviour in the Múlahverfi neighbourhood of Reykjavík, mbl.is reported. The behaviour appeared to be harmless entertainment by young boys. After those involved apologised, everyone left amicably.

The incidents were recorded in the police log covering operations from 5pm on Sunday until 5am on Monday. Police also received a report of objectionable behaviour by an individual at a tanning salon in Múlahverfi, but the log gave no further details. A theft from a grocery shop in the neighbourhood and a burglary at a private home in Garðabær were also reported.

A driver was stopped travelling at 96 kilometres per hour in a 40-kilometre-per-hour zone and lost his driving licence immediately.

In Mosfellsbær, police received a report of objectionable motorcycle driving involving an electric motocross bike without a registration plate. The vehicle may not be driven on a roadway and is permitted only on a pavement. Police also investigated reports of suspicious people in district 105, but found no one when they arrived.

Police additionally intervened with seven drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol, narcotics or medication, or a combination of these.
