Rain moves across Finland as sunshine returns this weekend

Scattered rain will move northeast across Finland over the weekend, while temperatures remain fairly steady nationwide, Yle meteorologist Elias Paakkanen says.

On Friday afternoon, rain will focus on southern and western Finland before moving into central and eastern parts of the country in the evening. Northern Finland will be mostly dry, with occasional sunshine possible between the clouds. Temperatures will mainly range from 10 to 15 degrees Celsius.

On Saturday, rain will shift towards eastern and northern Finland. Rain will also reach southern areas during the early morning, but sunshine will appear in places across southern and central Finland and in the far north of Lapland during the day. Southwesterly winds will strengthen slightly.

The next area of low pressure, bringing further rain, will arrive overnight on Sunday. Rain will initially affect southern and central Finland, but by the afternoon it will be limited to the north. Sunshine will appear in many places south of the rain area, and temperatures will rise.
