More than 1,000 passengers with Icelandair flights scheduled for September 23 and 24 have moved their bookings, mbl.is reports, citing Icelandair communications officer Guðni Sigurðsson.

The airline offered all passengers travelling on those dates the option as a precautionary measure in case of a strike.

Sigurðsson said the measure was intended for customers concerned about their booked flights and was similar to steps the airline takes when poor weather is forecast.

Passengers who do not accept the offer to change their flights will be entitled to a new flight schedule or a refund if a strike takes place, he said.
