Passenger boat Ingólfur to replace Baldur during repairs

Passenger boat Ingólfur will operate to and from Flatey while ferry Baldur undergoes maintenance, mbl.is reports.

Baldur is scheduled to enter dry dock in Hafnarfjörður on October 6, with the work expected to take four to six weeks, according to a notice from the Icelandic Road and Coastal Administration on Facebook.

Ingólfur, from Ísafjörður, is expected to sail on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays during the maintenance period.

Because Ingólfur cannot carry freight in the same way as Baldur, people who need to transport heavy items or goods to or from Flatey are encouraged to do so before Baldur enters dry dock.
