Police investigate attempted manslaughter after drug deal in Kokkola

Yle reports that police are investigating serious violence in central Kokkola on Tuesday evening, September 15, after a drug deal ended in violence. Three suspects have been detained.

Police received a report of the incident through the emergency response centre at around 10pm. One person was subjected to serious violence and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Three people had left the scene before police arrived. Two suspects were detained during Tuesday evening and the third was detained on Wednesday. Two of the suspects are 18 years old and one is a minor.

Nearly 10 police patrols took part in the response. Police are investigating the case as attempted manslaughter, aggravated robbery and a narcotics offence. The preliminary investigation continues with technical examination and questioning.
