Jónsbók has hired Fannar Freyr Bergmann and Elías Snorrason as specialists in artificial intelligence and data science, mbl.is reports.

The company is developing an artificial intelligence solution for lawyers. The appointments are part of its continued growth, according to a statement from Jónsbók. Venture fund Crowberry Capital invested in the company this summer.

Bergmann holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in data science from the Netherlands. Before joining Jónsbók, he worked in artificial intelligence and data science at DataLab and previously worked as a contractor in the same field.

Over the past four years, Bergmann has worked on developing and implementing a range of customised artificial intelligence and generative artificial intelligence solutions for various organisations in Iceland.

Snorrason holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physics from the University of Iceland. He previously worked on developing language technology systems at Nordverse AI, including systems for the healthcare sector.

Before joining Jónsbók, he worked as a machine learning and artificial intelligence engineer at the US artificial intelligence company Cleanlab, which developed technology for teams building and operating artificial intelligence systems. There, he worked on technology and methods for data quality and reliability in both traditional machine learning and large language models and generative artificial intelligence.
