High-pressure ridge brings calmer, brighter weather to Iceland

A high-pressure ridge will move across Iceland today, bringing calmer conditions and clearing skies in many areas, mbl.is reports. The weather will turn slightly cooler.
Winds will generally be light and variable, with bright spells. Drizzle is expected at times in northern and eastern Iceland early in the day. Temperatures will range from 5 to 13C, with the coolest conditions in the northeast.
A strengthening low-pressure system will approach from the southwest overnight. Strong southeasterly winds are expected tomorrow, along with considerable rain, particularly in southeast Iceland and the Eastfjords. Temperatures will range from 7 to 12C.
