Police send Kuopio man’s suspected sex crimes to prosecutor

Eastern Finland Police have completed a preliminary investigation into a Kuopio man suspected of 14 offences, including several rapes, aggravated rapes and stalking, Yle reported. The case has been transferred to a prosecutor for consideration of charges.

The suspect, who was born in the 1970s, is accused of offences against a Northern Savonia woman born in the 1980s. The alleged crimes took place between 2022 and 2024, mainly in Northern Savonia.

Police said the man worked in healthcare when the alleged offences occurred. The suspected crimes were not connected to his professional duties or to patients receiving care at his workplace.
