Stabbing incident reported in downtown Skien, Norway leaves young man hospitalized

At 9:12 PM on Saturday evening, police received reports of a stabbing incident in downtown Skien. A young man in his early twenties was transported to the hospital by ambulance. He is currently at Skien Hospital, but will soon be transferred via air ambulance to Ullevål Hospital. According to police, he is conscious but in serious condition.

The police have not yet made any arrests but are diligently working to secure the crime scene and interviewing witnesses. Numerous witnesses have already been questioned, with some individuals brought in for further interrogation at the Grenland Police Station. While no arrests have been made so far, the possibility remains that they could occur.

In the aftermath of the incident, a significant area around downtown Skien has been cordoned off. Witnesses reported that multiple people may have been involved in the incident. The operations leader in the South-East police district confirmed that they are actively searching for more than one perpetrator.

Authorities have set up a larger perimeter in Skien city center, speaking with witnesses and deploying forensic teams to the scene as they continue the manhunt. The backgrounds of those involved remain unclear, but police are investigating the motives and circumstances surrounding the event. They have indicated that their presence at the site will extend into the night as they conduct tactical and technical operations.
