Denmark’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Interior has allowed five municipalities to raise taxes in 2027, DR reports. The decision was welcomed by Hørsholm Mayor Morten Slotved of the Conservative Party.
“We have been under pressure from rising costs, so this is also a helping hand as we are going to spend more money from next year,” Slotved said.
Politicians in Hørsholm are negotiating next year’s budget, in which the tax increase will ultimately be decided.
“To ensure the best possible welfare for residents, we may have to raise taxes,” the mayor said.
