Rain and mountain sleet forecast in Westfjords

Low-pressure systems will linger near Iceland over the coming days, bringing wet weather, according to mbl.is.
Southwesterly winds of 3 to 10 metres per second and showers are expected on Friday, with winds gradually strengthening after midday. Temperatures will range from 8 to 15C, with the mildest conditions in the northeast.
Later in the day, winds will turn westerly and northwesterly at 8 to 15 metres per second, bringing rain that will begin in the Westfjords. Temperatures there will also fall, with sleet expected in mountainous areas.
Northwesterly winds of 5 to 13 metres per second are forecast on Saturday, reaching 13 to 18 metres per second in eastern Iceland during the first part of the day. Rain will fall intermittently, while conditions will improve south of the mountain passes. Temperatures will be between 6 and 12C, with the mildest weather in the south.
