Court to deliver verdict in Mika Moring case

North Savo District Court will deliver its verdict today in the case of Mika Moring, who is charged with the manslaughter of a woman who disappeared in 2019 and aggravated deprivation of liberty, Yle reported.

Prosecutors allege that Moring lured the woman into his vehicle with drugs and kept her under his control for months. They say he killed her with a folding knife or by another means. Her body was found the year before last.

The prosecution is seeking a prison sentence of at least nine years and six months.

Moring denies the charges. He has previously been convicted of several offences against women.
