Cross-bike driver arrested after police pursuit

A cross-bike driver was arrested in a residential building in Úlfarsárdalur at around 5 p.m. after police pursued him, mbl.is reports.

According to an eyewitness, the man left the cross bike during the pursuit and entered an apartment on Sifjarbrunn, where he was arrested.

A photograph taken at the scene by an mbl.is photographer shows the man being led away in handcuffs.

At least 15 police officers were reportedly at the scene, which was subject to a considerable police operation.

Police could not immediately be reached for comment.
