Google plans 13 billion euro investment in Finland

Google will invest 13 billion euros in Finland over the next two years, Yle reported on Wednesday. The company plans to build new data centres in Kajaani, Vaala and Muhos.

Environment and Climate Minister Sari Multala will discuss the investment in Yle’s A-studio programme alongside Jussi Kangasharju, a professor of computer science at the University of Helsinki.

The investment has been welcomed in Finland but has also raised concerns, including the possibility that electricity prices could increase.

The discussion will be broadcast from 9.05pm on Yle TV1 and Yle Areena. Yle said the article would be updated during the programme.
