Kristersson and Andersson face decisive prime minister debate

Ulf Kristersson of the Moderate Party and Magdalena Andersson of the Social Democrats will meet in a prime minister debate on SVT on Wednesday evening, in an encounter that could determine the election, SVT reported.

“It is win or disappear for Andersson and Kristersson,” SVT political reporter Tomas Nordenskiöld says in an interview about what is at stake.

Classic debates between prime ministerial candidates can decide an election, Nordenskiöld says. But he adds that the debates have become more difficult because voters now ask the questions to a greater extent.

The debate will be broadcast on SVT on September 9 at 7.45pm.
