Arsonist escapes after setting fire to Reykjavik home

A fire was reported at a residential property in central Reykjavik on Tuesday, but the person responsible remains unknown, mbl.is reported. Police are investigating the incident.

The property sustained minor damage, according to a police log covering operations from 5am to 5pm.

Police in Hafnarfjordur also received a report of vandalism after a man smashed the windows of several cars. The suspect in that case is also unknown.

A man was arrested in Kjalarnes on suspicion of breaking into a house and held in custody because of his condition.

In Kopavogur, a car was driven into a wall. The driver suffered minor injuries, while the vehicle sustained considerable damage.
