The medical inpatient wards at the National Hospital have moved to the new H-building, KVF reports.

Wards B7 and B8 relocated this morning. Elisabeth Hjaltalin, function manager at H1, said staff were pleased to have finally moved and now had significantly better facilities.

Work at H1 will be different from how it was in the old wards, she said.

Nurse Anna Jóannesardóttir and healthcare assistant Esther Skála had worked at B8 for many years. Both have now retired and said there was a major difference between entering the new premises and the old facilities.

The psychiatric centre is the only remaining department due to move to the H-building. The move is scheduled for 24 November.
