Police seek remand for suspect after two Kokkola stabbings

Police in Finland are seeking the detention of one suspect in connection with two suspected attempted manslaughters in Kokkola, Yle reports.

The Ostrobothnia Police Department will present the request on Tuesday, with the detention hearing scheduled for the afternoon.

The confrontation involving a knife took place early on Saturday morning. A police patrol found two men who had both been stabbed. They were taken to hospital.

Police arrested two people suspected of involvement shortly after the incident. Investigators say they now have a clear understanding of what happened and what led to the violence.
